For My Mama

Yesterday I was talking to my mom on the phone. Here is a portion of our conversation:

M: "When are you going to post your 29 week picture?" (See my previous post.)

V: "It doesn't exist. I didn't look cute that day, remember?"

M: "Well, I'd still like to see one."

V: "I'm just going to wait until 30 weeks; might as well by this point."

Rob, in the background, eavesdropping as usual: "I'll take one right now!"

M (who heard him): "Yeah, take one right now!"

V (looks down at "Sunday nap" attire): "No thanks. I definitely don't look cute right now."

M: "Fine, take one tomorrow and post it. I want to see."

V: "Okay, I guess I will see what I can do."

Flash forward to this morning. I get all ready for work, and of course I want to take the picture then because by the end of the day I will not look very good (is this just me? Please tell me it's not.). So I have Rob go outside with me in our yard, you know, for some new and interesting background material, and out of the 19 pictures that he took (yeah he was thrilled. He just started randomly snapping after I didn't like the first three), I've narrowed it down to these few:
Awkwardly looking at my own bangs. Everyone knows a great photo is one where you can't see your irises or pupils.

A "candid" shot, you know, so it looks more natural and less contrived. Yeah.

Getting better, except for the sour patch kid face.

Even better, except for the fact that I'm not looking at the camera for some reason. Weird. And MORE contrived than actually looking at the camera.

There we go. A normal, if somewhat boring, 29 (1/2) week photo.

There you go, Mama. Proof that getting a decent pregnancy picture is much more of an ordeal than one might think. To the rest of you, I'm sorry that you've had to look at all of these pictures of my orange maternity dress ($6 at Target, yo!), and the bush by my house, and me. Next time I'll try to post just one.

Lol, that is so great. Pregnancy pictures are super awkward, never know what to do with your hands, feel like you have to look cute because you hardly ever feel cute anyway. BUT you look beautiful and I LOVE that dress! The background is even pretty good! ha ha so funny

I love that dress. Also, I'm way sad that we can't all be together for the movie too. sigh. Me, you, and Sue will have a big bash with Cam when she gets home though and we can watch both movies in row. It will be awesome.

You'll be glad you took a million pictures of your cute pregnant belly once your baby gets here. You look so good for having only 10 weeks left...and I'm not just saying that either.
