The first two weeks of parenthood have been wonderful. Most days I am crazy tired and of course we have no sort of routine established whatsoever, but Nolie is such a sweet and good baby and Rob and I love having her in our home. It's really something how having a baby makes our little family seem so much more complete. Here are some tidbits about Baby Magnolia:
She makes the cutest and funniest little noises. She snorts all the time so I've taken to calling her "Snortie Piglet." At first Rob and my mom thought it was weird but they soon realized how endearing it is and have jumped on the Snortie Piglet bandwagon.
BTW, we are calling her either Magnolia or Nolie, which you probably noticed. Never Maggie please :) we don't like it. She has a host of other nicknames that include Snortie Piglet, including Magnolie, M'nolie (like "m'lady," very fancy and British) Nolie Bird, Noleroo, and more variations.
She's a pretty good sleeper most nights. We've had a couple of epic bad nights, but usually she just gets up every three or four hours to eat and goes back to sleep. She likes to stay up late though. This may be our own fault, as we're kind of night owls and her doctor said she probably just likes to stay up and hang out with us.
Rob is really great with her. I confess I was a tad nervous before she was born because he's never been around babies, but he's a pro diaper changer and he loves just staring at her and playing with her little hands and feet.
She likes when I read her stories.
She also likes staring at this big Monet painting that we have above our couch. At least I tell myself that she likes it, because it pleases me to know that she may be cultivating an appreciation for art in her young age.
She almost always sneezes twice in a row, which is exactly how Rob is.
She gets the hiccups ALL the time. She was like that when I was pregnant too. They are so cute, but I think they bug her sometimes.
She loves her hands and her beautiful long fingers, but I usually have to keep them confined because she's fond of scratching her face.
At her first doctor's appointment she was in the 63% for weight and head size, and then the 96% for length. Tall skinny girl, just like her daddy.
Most people think she looks like me.
She actually really likes tummy time most of the time.
She fits into newborn size clothes, but just some of them just barely since she's so long. But 0-3 months are way too big for her. So our wardrobe choices are a little limited for now. But we don't really go anywhere, so it doesn't really matter.
She doesn't cry very often, but I hate it when she does because I know that it means she's really sad.
She's a sweet and content little girl. She loves to be held and snuggled and we are more than happy to oblige. Except sometimes I'm not too thrilled about it in the middle of the night when she won't go back to sleep, but mostly I remember she won't be tiny forever and I should snuggle her all I can while she'll let me. We love our darling baby and we can't believe how blessed we are to have her.

I love this! She looks adorable! Congrats on being a mommy Vienna!
This was so sweet to read! I love what you said about not being thrilled to hold her in the middle of the night when she won't go back to sleep, but it's important to remember she won't be little for ever. SO TRUE! I have to remind myself of that when Deirdre is having a bad night.
Oh she is just so beautiful! I miss you guys SO MUCH! Please come back and play with us! I can't wait until you get back and we can go for walks. Hope all is going well, I've been meaning to text you, seriously she is so beautiful and she does look so much like you. I LOVE her owl hat and her long fingers and her sweet little self. Can't wait to see you again and squish her!
